A Christmas content calendar that survives December
December is the month you have least energy and most obligations. A schedule built around that, plus what to batch in November.

December is the month with the most obligations and the least energy, and most content calendars for it are written as though that is not true.
This one assumes you will post less than usual, not more, and that the useful work happens in November.
Christmas runs Tuesday, 1 December 2026 to Friday, 25 December 2026, starting in about 12 weeks. If that is more than a few weeks away, the single most valuable thing on this page is the batching section.
Batch it in November
This is the whole strategy and everything else is detail.
Anything that is not time-sensitive should be made before December starts: gift guides, year-in-review content, tutorials, lists, anything evergreen with a seasonal skin. That is most of the month.
Two sessions in late November covers three weeks of December. Do that and the month is pleasant. Skip it and you spend the busiest weeks of the year making content between other obligations.
Week one: gift and guide content
Search intent peaks earliest here, so publishing early matters more this month than any other.
Post 1, the gift guide. Organised by recipient, not price. This is the highest-earning post of your year if you do affiliate work, and it needs to be live early to rank.
Post 2, a useful seasonal how-to in your niche. Something people will save and come back to.
Post 3, light and personal. Decorations, prep, what you are looking forward to.
Stories: polls. Real tree or fake, decorations before December, the usual arguments.
Week two: the volume week
Your last week of full energy. Use it.
Post 1, your best production. If there is one ambitious thing this month, it goes here.
Post 2, the practical one. Last-minute gifts, hosting tips, food that can be made ahead, whatever your niche version of "helping someone under pressure" is.
Post 3, entertainment. Something enjoyable with no lesson attached.
Stories: behind the scenes, plus answering the questions you are now getting.
Week three: urgency week
Everyone is running out of time, which makes urgent content the highest performer of the month.
Post 1, last-minute anything. Gifts that arrive in time, things you can make tonight, solutions to a problem people have right now.
Post 2, the year in review. What you learned, what changed, your favourites. Batched in November, posted now.
Post 3, optional. Skip it if you are tired. Genuinely.
Stories: countdown, real documentation.
Week four: stop
The most useful advice on this page.
Post once, if you feel like it, on or around the day. Something personal and short. Then stop.
Engagement drops hard, your audience is with their families, and the content you force out this week is the worst you will make all year. The creators who take the last week off come back in January with more energy than the ones who did not, and lose nothing.
If you cannot bear to go dark, schedule one evergreen post and close the app.
What performs in December
Useful under pressure. Anything that solves a problem someone has today.
Honest. December posts that acknowledge the month is hard for a lot of people consistently get the warmest response of the year.
Nostalgic. Year in review, then and now, what changed.
Short. Attention is fragmented. This is not the month for a fourteen-minute video.
What to skip
Daily posting. It will not survive contact with the month.
Anything requiring other people's diaries. Collaborations in December are how plans die.
Aggressive selling in the final week. Everyone is doing it, everyone is tired of it, and it costs more goodwill than it earns.
Guilt about the gap. Nobody noticed. Post when you are back.
