Cookie Policy

Applies to: Vantr, and everyone using it

Vantr uses two kinds of cookie: the ones required to sign you in, and one that remembers your light or dark theme. This Policy lists them in full and explains what we have chosen not to use.

1.What cookies are

1.1

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. It lets the site recognise your browser on your next request — which is how you stay signed in from one page to the next.

1.2

This Policy covers cookies and similar browser storage used by the Vantr application and website. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data generally.

2.The cookies we set

2.1

We keep this list short on purpose. In full, it is:

2.2

Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent under the ePrivacy Directive and UK PECR, because the Service cannot function without them. The theme preference cookie stores only a display choice and no personal data.

3.What we do not use

3.1

We have deliberately not added the categories most sites have:

no advertising or retargeting cookies;
no third-party analytics or session-recording scripts;
no social media tracking pixels;
no cross-site tracking of any kind, and no sale or sharing of browsing data.

3.2

This is why you are not asked to dismiss a consent banner when you arrive. There is nothing non-essential to consent to.

4.Local storage

4.1

Alongside cookies, the Service uses your browser's local storage to hold a draft of a post you are composing, so an accidental refresh or a dropped connection does not lose your work.

4.2

That draft stays in your browser, is not transmitted to us as a cookie, and is cleared when the post is published or the draft is discarded. Clearing your browser data removes it.

5.Managing cookies

5.1

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Every major browser offers this under its privacy or security settings.

5.2

Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in, because there is no other way for us to recognise your session. Blocking the theme cookie only means your appearance choice is not remembered between visits.

5.3

Cookies set by the platforms you connect are governed by those platforms' own cookie policies, not this one.

6.Changes to this Policy

6.1

If we add a cookie, we will update the table in section 2 and change the effective date at the top of this document. If we ever add a cookie that requires consent, we will ask for it before setting the cookie.
