Engagement rate calculator
Your engagement rate by views, which is the one that means something now, and by followers, which brands still ask for.
Add views (or followers) and at least one interaction to see a rate.
What counts as good depends far more on the platform and your size than most benchmarks admit. The guide gives real ranges with the caveats attached.
How it works
Interactions over reach
Likes plus comments plus shares, divided by views. It is the same formula the app uses on every post, which is why a number here will match what Vantr shows you once your channels are connected.
Questions
The things people ask first
Should I divide by views or by followers?
By views, for anything on a recommendation feed. Dividing by followers made sense when a feed only showed you to people who followed you; now most viewers of a good post do not. The followers version is here because some brands still ask for it by name.
Do shares count as engagement?
Here, yes, alongside likes and comments, which matches what the app shows on a post. Not every platform reports shares, and a platform reporting nothing is not the same as a post getting none.
What is a good engagement rate?
It varies far more by platform and account size than most published benchmarks admit, and a single number would be misleading. The guide gives real ranges with their caveats.
Why does my number differ from the platform's own?
Platforms count engagement differently, and some include saves, profile taps or follows from a post. Compare a number against itself over time rather than against a different tool's definition.
