Batching

Batching is doing the same task repeatedly in one sitting: filming four videos in an afternoon rather than one on four days.

Why it works

Setup is most of the cost. Lighting, changing, tidying the background, getting into the right frame of mind — all of it is paid once per session rather than once per video. The fourth video in a batch usually costs a fraction of the first.

It also protects consistency. Content made in advance survives a bad week, and a bad week is the thing that ends most posting streaks.

How people actually do it

• Decide the topics before the session, not during it.
• Film in whatever order shares a setup rather than in publishing order.
• Edit in a separate session from filming. They use different parts of your brain.
• Schedule the batch out so it publishes on a rhythm rather than all at once.

The failure mode

Batched content can end up feeling detached from the moment, and anything timely will not survive a two-week queue. Most creators end up with a mix: a batch for the reliable output, and room to post something the same day when it matters.
